Claycity

Clay City is one of those areas that crept up quietly and now has a proper neighbourhood feel. It's largely apartment blocks — a lot of them new or newish — with a mix of young families, working professionals, and people who've been pushed out of pricier Kasarani spots. Tuesday evening is calm. You'll find people at the kiosks, kids playing in the compound, the smell of nyama choma drifting somewhere nearby. Saturday morning is busier — matatus, people heading to TRM or the market, general movement. The big frustration is the road situation. Getting onto Thika Road during peak hours is genuinely painful. If you work in town or Westlands, budget that commute time honestly. On the upside, rent is still reasonable for Nairobi, security in most buildings is decent, and the area has grown enough to have real services without feeling chaotic. Not glamorous. But comfortable and liveable.
