Madaraka

Madaraka is the kind of estate where things just work without making a fuss about it. It's residential through and through — big apartment blocks, some older maisonettes, a few shops tucked into ground floors. Tuesday evening is quiet. People come home, gates close, it winds down early. Saturday morning has a bit more life — someone's washing a car, kids are out, the mama mboga near the junction is doing brisk business. It's not a nightlife spot and it doesn't try to be. What you get instead is decent security in most buildings, fairly manageable traffic compared to Kilimani or Lavington, and rent that doesn't make you cry. The commute to the CBD or Upper Hill is honest — not great, not terrible. The person who thrives here wants calm, values space for the money, and doesn't need to walk to a rooftop bar on a Wednesday.

Low-key and residential. Mostly working adults and families. Not much street energy after 9pm. The kind of place where neighbors nod at each other but don't necessarily know each other's names. Calm without being sleepy. Functional more than fashionable.
