Parklands

Parklands is dense, convenient, and a little chaotic in the best way. You're close enough to the CBD that it doesn't feel remote, but the neighborhood has its own rhythm. Tuesday evening is pretty calm — people walking back from work, the odd bodaboda weaving through, a few guys eating mutura outside a kiosk. Saturday morning is a different thing entirely: Diamond Plaza is packed, traffic on 3rd Parklands Avenue is gridlocked, and every parking spot near the Indian restaurants is gone by 11am. The food options are genuinely excellent, especially if you like South Asian food — you'll find proper biryani, paan shops, mithai spots. It's not a quiet residential bubble. There's construction everywhere, hooting, and matatus on tight roads. But if you want walkability, top hospitals within reach, and a lived-in urban feel without paying Westlands prices for everything, Parklands makes a solid case for itself. Families, young professionals, and expats all seem to make it work here.
