Tassia

Tassia is one of those places where life happens loudly and without apology. Tuesday evening, you're squeezing through a road that's half occupied by kids playing football and half by a boda boda guy who's decided the pavement is also a road. Saturday morning, the chapati smoke hits you before you even leave your building. It's a proper working-class estate — densely packed, affordable, and never quiet. A one-bedroom here goes for around 13k, which in Nairobi terms is a reasonable deal. The buildings are mostly concrete walk-ups, most have a guard and a malimali shop at the gate. What'll frustrate you: the roads are rough in spots, parking is almost a joke, and the betting shops and church PA systems compete for airspace around the clock. But if you're someone who needs a functional, no-frills place to come home to without spending half your salary on rent, Tassia makes a lot of sense.

Loud, lived-in, and completely unbothered. The energy is working-class Nairobi at full volume — boda bodas, kids, church PA systems, and someone frying mutura somewhere close by. It doesn't wind down much. Even on weeknights there's a hum to it.
