Tatu City

Tatu City is unlike anywhere else in Nairobi — and that's genuinely a double-edged thing. It's clean, quiet, and feels almost surreal compared to the rest of the city. Roads are tarmacked and lit. Security is serious — guards, CCTV, the works. On a Tuesday evening it's peaceful to the point of being almost too quiet. Saturday morning you'll see families jogging, kids on bikes, people actually using pavements. The crowd skews toward expats, diaspora returnees, and upper-middle-class Kenyan families who are done with the chaos of Westlands or South B. But here's the honest part: you are far. The CBD is a proper commute. If you work in town and don't have a car, daily life gets complicated fast. There's not much spontaneous life yet — it's still building. Restaurants and shops are improving but you won't find the kind of street food and buzz you'd get in Ngong Road or Eastleigh. It's a bet on where Nairobi is going, not where it is right now.
